My Mischief
My mischief resulted in an unintended consequence in the WeChat circle. It all started when Z was telling his family stories about participating in the Korean War. One of the things he mentioned was his father-in-law was a war hero. Then I was teasing him by asking: Does that mean you are qualified as the prince-ling son-in-law of the Red Generation? Then I was imagining his facial expression and chuckling all afternoon.
Shortly Y stepped in by the following-up question: "You once told us your family background as the capitalist prevented you from enrolling in the university in 1978. Now you are the prince-ling son-in-law. Which identity would you use under what kind of situation? See, things getting serious. This was totally unintended at the time of my teasing Z.
W followed with the following comment with a big laugh: Being ranked as a Captain does not qualify as the Red Generation. Hahaha.
I responded:"Gosh, there were so much information that I overlooked the specific rank. What a mess I made! Hahaha."
Next morning Z responded with a lengthy story about why he did not use his relatives' position to advance himself. He said he met his wife after graduation, and he relied no connection to get into university. His so-called capitalist family background was at best as New Capitalist after 1949. His father started as a poor peasant, then worked hard to gain more land, but then was taken by government....
Well, all these hoopla were originated from my mischief. Fortunately it did not cause a real problem.
